Dear Colleague:

We would like to welcome you to the Thirteenth Annual Live Symposium of Complex Coronary and Vascular Cases.

Interventional cardiology and endovascular interventional therapy continue to evolve. Rapid growth of available established and new technology and therapy is consistently supplemented with the results of well-designed multi-center and randomized trials. As practicing interventionalists, we must continually adapt to appropriately treat coronary, valvular, and peripheral vascular disease based on the available devices and trial results — we need to participate in continuing educational activities to remain current. Experience with and cost-effectiveness of new technologies and techniques are issues that must be weighed before making any decision in our daily practices.

That is exactly what we plan to do at the 2010 Live Symposium of Complex Coronary and Vascular Cases Symposium: present concise and current important information that will update you on the latest techniques and technologies, and help clarify areas of diagnostic and therapeutic controversy. We plan to present the interventional format consistent with the guidelines for appropriateness of coronary revascularization. To further expand the field of endovascular specialty, this year’s symposium will have a dedicated one-day vascular symposium on June 18th. The format will be similar to the coronary symposium, with live cases and didactic discussion, and will be directed by Dr. Prakash Krishnan.

The primary focus of this live course is to present a multidevice approach to revascularization of patients with complex cardiovascular disease, emphasizing technical details of the procedural techniques, so that clinicians can become safe operators. The live, case-driven approach is a proven, effective teaching tool that highlights the best of the expert insight into the complex procedures that we regularly encounter. The program is complemented by unbiased commentary of live cases by world-renowned experts and discussions intended to bring out general consensus regarding the most effective and appropriate strategy that can immediately be applied in your practice.

In addition, this year’s course will present brief debates on the common topics of controversy we frequently encounter in the field of interventional cardiovascular medicine. These debates will supplement the live cases with an up-to-date, comprehensive review of the most important and contentious topics of the current year.

We are committed to offer the 2010 Live Symposium of Complex Coronary and Vascular Cases as a platform for continued innovation in interventional cardiovascular medicine with the goal of achieving safe procedural outcomes.

We look forward to seeing you at the symposium.

Sincerely,

Samin K. Sharma, MD, FSCAI

Annapoorna S. Kini, MD, MRCP
